Meet Yaseen, founder of Stockilm
Yaseen began trading in 2019, moved into stocks in 2023 and launched Stockilm in May 2026. His route into teaching grew from years spent studying charts, trying different approaches and searching for a way to trade that fitted his beliefs.
That experience shaped Stockilm: a programme combining course lessons, live trading sessions, community discussion and tools for planning and reviewing trades.
His early years in trading
Yaseen started trading in 2019, initially learning independently through forex and futures. He studied charts, watched trading lessons and tested different approaches through trial and error. In his account of that period, losing trades and mistakes became part of the learning process.
His studies covered smart money concepts, retail trading approaches, trend lines and candlestick patterns. Over time, his focus moved towards having clear rules for a trade and reviewing whether his decisions followed those rules.
Why he moved from forex and futures into stocks
Trading mattered to Yaseen, but he began questioning whether the way he was trading aligned with his Islamic beliefs. He describes becoming uncomfortable with the leverage and ownership arrangements involved in his earlier trading and deciding to step away from it.
A friend introduced him to small- and mid-cap stocks. That prompted him to research share trading using cash and explore how he could apply what he had learned to a different market.
He moved into stocks in 2023. This change in direction became central to his personal story and to the creation of Stockilm.
Why he started Stockilm
Teaching was not originally part of Yaseen’s plan. Conversations with other forex and futures traders made him want to share the approach he had found.
Encouragement from a friend led him to start sharing what he had learned. He launched Stockilm in May 2026 to teach his approach and provide a place where people could study, ask questions and review their work together.
His teaching places emphasis on written rules, a defined trading plan and looking back at decisions. Those ideas connect the course, live sessions and trade journal.
How Yaseen works with members today
